Look At The Numbers, Compare Everything
When searching for the best rehab facility it really is about the numbers. For instance the number of clients the treatment center accommodates at any given time, the staff to client ratio, the number of counseling hours and what type of counseling. This should also include the quality of counseling, group and/or individual. How many hours of each? How many people are in the group sessions? How many hours of individual counseling with an LMHC? And finally, what happens when the client is discharged into the real world?
Most people don’t know how to measure the quality of treatment because they don’t know what to ask. Many will ask about the “success rate”, percentages and such, because they see this on some websites. Unfortunately there are no real measures for success from addiction. If a percentage is quoted, the next question should be what time period are they quoting? Are they giving you percentages for six weeks, six months, six years or longer?
Reality is, there’s no accurate gauge for success from addiction. At Bayshore Retreat we know this because we’ve had clients return or call us when they’ve had a relapse (we prefer to call it lapse as a lapse in judgment). Our numbers will verify that alcohol is one of the hardest addictions to overcome for the obvious reasons, it’s legal, available everywhere and promoted in every media possible. The most we can hope for is that we’ve prepared our clients for success, coping skills, guidance, a strong Exit Plan to make it through the tough days and years ahead. And most importantly, be there to encourage them if they do have a ‘lapse’.
In general, statistics will be better for the addiction to prescription drugs, cocaine, and other possibilities, especially if the client has been to Bayshore Retreat. The holistic approach of cleansing the body and helping it achieve optimum health combined with master level counseling are the keys in this area of addiction.
As for searching for the best drug treatment center, we’d like to think that Bayshore Retreat is it. We’ve combined every proven and possible technique into what we do to help our clients achieve that elusive ‘success’ from addiction. We stay in touch after they leave. Clients tell us that they “feel better than they have felt in years, not only physically, but also emotionally as well”. They say they feel they have the tools to prevent relapsing. It’s the small home-like environment that makes a difference. It’s the personal attention. It’s also the attitude of which our staff approaches addiction and the clients at Bayshore Retreat. Is Bayshore Retreat the best drug and alcohol treatment center out there? Yes, it is. We prove it with six clients at a time, so at the end of the day the best rehab treatment center is about the numbers. The fewer clients, the better.
